: THE CAR AND THE CLOWN :

:: My own ornament toys ::

:: I bought these toys from the flea market, the first time I went there. I randomly bought these two toys because they looked quite old and cute. Especially the phone being one of the toy story characters, but also a very old toy. I absolutely love these in my room although they are not the oldest things ever, but there decay and wither adds nicely to the room ::

:: This is my other toy I bought, the clown and at the moment I have no real place for it in my room, but I will one day. I bought this toy due to its cuteness. But defiantly is not my favorite unlike the telephone as this clown is not either decayed or dirty ::

: HANDMADE DOLLS :

:: My handmade dolls ::

:: These really cute handmade dolls were given to me from my anti Anita, which she handmade herself and now sells a few. Although they are not vintage I still think they are very original and quirky to have displayed in my room, very cute. I absolutely love the work that has gone into these so delicate in design ::

:: This is one of my favorites as I absolutely love the colors, patterns and accessories on her. I love that little girl look she has. At the moment she is placed nicely on top of my vintage soap the creme on it contrasting her colors vibrantly. ::

:: Another one she made for me sits on top of one of my religious books with this doll having a more black and white theme to it consisting of a rich mix of lace and flowers wearing a little rose on her head ::

:: She gave me one that was bigger than the others, having more of a " gothic " look to her, wearing a mask that I quite like and a hat that I particularly like to ::

:: I think these dolls are perfect as they are so original a lot better than some of the presents I have had ::

: dILLY :

:: My porcelain doll called Dilly ::

:: This is one of two of my porcelain dolls that my dad got me for my 18 birthday, my first two ever porcelain dolls and are still two of my favorite. I would say this is probably one of the youngest looking ones I have ( she is so adorable ).  She is filled with delicate and intricate designs, lace and flowers. One of my favorite features about these dolls are there hair, so beautiful and curly ::

:: One day I hope to have a room filled with these dolls and hopefully I will buy another one soon at the flea market. At the moment I have six. My dad got these from a charity shop normally the only and best place to buy them from or of cause the flea market. Another feature I admire about these dolls is there outfits I would give anything to have one ( maybe not anything ). It just reeks of vintage ::

: VINTAGE SHELF : ACCESSORIZE :

:: How I accessorize my vintage shelf ::

:: I remember buying my vintage shelf at a shop quite a way from where I live, its a cute vintage shop in an expensive area of Sheffield called Eccesle road. Near there is a road called cemetery or graves road holding an abandoned church with really old and beautiful graves ( I must visit that place again ). The place is overcrowded with weeds with the building swarmed with pigeons. The shelf was about £40.00, but so worth it. At first it was bare, but over time I have filled it with all sorts of vintage and weird, quirky items. But here is a few I have selected ::

:: So these I would say are a mixture of some vintage and quirks on my shelf. My favorite here is the teddy which I think my mum found on the street. Its so cute and I do not care about the fact it was found. some of the better things are the ones you find. So now I hang it off my shelf, blending in well. Another thing found on the street that I found was this little lego man that I thought looked nice and still looks a little dirty from the street ( look that I love ) making it look a little old. Also it really contrasts from some of the vintage items ::

:: For a more DIY accessory I have taken one of my flower headbands snapped the flower of and now I have placed it on top of my shelf adding to the vintage look. My more recent accessory is this bell I bought, from the first time I went to the flea market in chesterfield. It is a bell ( only 50p ) and it looks great now hanging from the bottom corner of my shelf ::

: THE FLEA MARKET :

:: The best flea market around ::

:: I will always now wish that I could live in chesterfield, one of the best places for vintage things, and of course the flea market that is packed with vintage second hand things, only the best. Though if I did live in chesterfield I would still want to live in sheffield for the vintage fair. Luckily my new college is in chesterfield. It takes a while to look round the market (as it is fairly big) but it is so worth it. I have been saving up for this since the start of the holidays, though I was a tiny bit disappointed that unlike the last time I went I did not find many things that I wanted ::

:: Though there was a lot of great stuff. One of my favorite stalls was this one full of old games, that I have always particularly wanted. I would have bought this cute little dominos set, as it was to cute to resist apart from the outside packaging, I thought it looked a bit more retro then old. There was other games with cute little blocks, but I didn't really see where I could put that kind of thing in my room.  I was really drawn to this item, I liked it cause it was bigger than the rest and looked older. I still don't know if I want it now or not ::

:: This is one of my favorite stalls selling a lot of vintage and old items to my taste. Once I came here the stall soled this really nice lamp that I just wanted so much ( god knows why I didn't ask my dad for money to buy it ) but I was really hoping they still had it. Obviously they didn't. last time they had these really old lace lamp shades that I wished I could have bought. I only bought two things from this flea market this time, buying another porcelain doll for my collection and a religious book (also adding to the collection). Though I did not like the look or design of the cover on it instead buying it for the religious images inside ::

: THE RABBIT :

:: I love this adorable little tin ::

:: While staying at my gran's with my sister and my dad, one day we all decided to go to Morcambe. A little sea side town. My favorite part about this trip was when we went to the market and we visited this little stall. It had lots of interesting things that I was interested in such as this little tin that I just could not leave without. It was really nice of my sister to buy it for me, being really cheap only costing 50p. Though I regret not buying other things from there such as some of the religious books they had that were really cheap only costing 20p each ::

:: Some of the best things you find are the cheap things at a stall or market. I love this little tin the images on it are so delicate and cute like a fairy tale. The rust on it makes it look so old and used which I just love. I knew that when I bought this I would not have anything vintage to put in it. So even though they are a bit vibrant for me I thought these chocolates would still look nice in this tin. I have an obsession with not eating food that have really nice packaging because it looks to cute and adorable to eat ::

: MY NEW BEAUTY SET :

:: My new favorite possession ::

:: While I was away for a short period of time with my sister and dad, staying at my grandmas and then trailing of to visit different places. On the last day before we got on the coach to go home from Skipton we decided to have another full look round the place ( as it was raining last time ). This time we found a shop called bird cage. When I went in the shop I immediately was drawn to this set of brushes and a mirror that matched each other beautifully ::

:: I had always wanted an old set like this I had already seen a few sets or piece like this but the frames and colors were just a bit tacky. I love the brush on it I think its so different and looks a lot better than your common plastic hair brush. This set has been had made with patterns on it that has been embroidered, patterns that are flowers of subtle delicate pink flowers  ::

:: I also love the intricate details on the frames that also include little flowers and leaves. I think this set is truly perfect and I recommend that everyone should have these instead of that plastic waste we all seem to admire. So when I walked into this shop I found these and saw they were on sale and I immediately bought them, even better they were on sale because they were in a few areas damaged and for me that was another better thing cause it suggests they have been used, making them look older ::

: THE BOW AND THE TEACUP :

:: These are two of my favorite possessions in my room ::

:: This I find is such a cute and vintage possession of mine with its little cute bow on top and its minimal  colors that just make it look so beautiful. I bought this in a little sea side town called whitby, my favorite sea side town, there are so many vintage shops and other random little shops selling different quirky things. Also it holds an old graveyard, church and an old ruin monastery which unfortunately you have to pay. In this pot I have put in some of my favorite memories using bits of items from that memory. Which I think altogether just looks adorable ::

:: This is my favorite tea cup that I own ( out of the two I have ). I got this at the vintage fair in my city sheffield holding the biggest one I think in the country ( its amazing ). I have not been there in a while as I mainly go there for clothes and not needed any of that at the moment. As you can see this cup was designed to be a candle but hopefully I will use it all up and use it as a cup someday. Apparently this cup is about 100 years old ( so the women told me ) I absolutely love the delicate designs on this I could not resist buying this even if it was 15 pound. At the moment this goes so well on my old dark wooden bookshelf ::

: THE ART GALLERY :

:: One of my favorite parts of an art gallery is usually the building itself ::

:: While on my little holiday with my sister and dad, on one fine day we decided to go and visit manchester ( which toke a while to get to ). Mainly because they had a big art gallery that I really wanted to visit so I could write down the art work that inspired me in my journal for college. What really impressed me most about the gallery was the building itself, how vintage and old it looked especially the outside with its overbearing pillars ::

:: This was my favorite painting in the art gallery not due to the fact it looked so old and vintage but also I have always admired the beauty and art that a women's body is. This art gallery was mainly painting based that was realistic, which is not my sort of art especially when its just drawings and paintings of landscapes and flowers which most of it was. Except for this and other images of women, that I admired. I loved the room setting as well, as in the room was mannequins with old vintage dresses that I would love to wear. Also vases and other furniture ::

:: Furniture such as this bizarre thing that I think looks stunning with colors that are very vibrant and colorful. Your not supposed to touch this but I could not help but ring the bell. It sounded so lonely in this loud room. I don't know where in a house you would put this piece of furniture ( probably the point of it ) but I would love to have it in my house where ever because it is just to beautiful, the patterns and illustrations on it are just to delicate ::

:: If I had to pick one thing to have from this whole art gallery this would be it, this beautiful statue. I was not expecting to see this in the art gallery but I am so glad I did, making a change from the boring paintings. Again I admire art like this of a women's beauty because they are art ::

: ABANDONED BEAUTY :

:: Down a path in the dark woods ::

:: One evening while on my little holiday. Me, my dad and my sister decided to go for a walk. Dad would take me to see abandoned buildings such as an abandoned factory and also to a grave yard and church, that we didn't actually go to in the end. But what I saw was even better than some generic looking church ::

:: My dad knew this old abandoned house was here and it just looked so beautiful with two rooms divided by a brick wall. In one room it was dark but the other was lit up through gaps in the roof. It reminded my sister of assassins creed. I wished I could have stayed there a little longer, becausee if I have seen something thats so stunning It takes me a while too get used to it. Fortunately I got loads of pictures. This is defiantly one of my favorite abandoned places ::

:: One of my favorite part of this beautiful building was the windows, most of them were still almost in the same state as they were probably when they were built. As well I was surprised that there was not a single bit of graffiti around I found one but that was not part of the building, but next to an old door nearby. I was almost expecting to see some, because usually it suggests that the building is really old and has been there for ages. I suppose I kind of missed that effect. But in a way I was glad as it is one of the first abandoned homes I have seen without graffiti ::

: CURIOSITY SHOP :

:: Just like alice in wonderland ::

:: While on a little holiday in a little town somewhere called Clitheroe a place full of old bricked buildings, cobble roads, churches and a castle. What intrigued me the most was this shop called " curiosity shop " It was like stepping into alice in wonderland. On the window display there was a beautiful alice in wonderland dress. Yellow with characters on and as I hate wearing dresses I really wanted to buy this. Unfortunately it was to expensive costing over a hundred pound ( saving up for the flea market ) also it was a size 10 ::

:: Upstairs above the cafe is the shop, well more like a tea party. In the middle of the room is a table with loads of teacups and saucers on. The rest of the room is like something out of someone's bedroom except better with an old wardrobe full of handmade clothes with cute patterns all quite expensive for me. The room also contained something that I have always wanted that is a vintage brush and mirror but for me the decoration on them were a bit tacky. So I am still looking around for that ::

:: I recommend to anyone to visit villages or little towns for anything vintage and not just to go there for the items but for the oldness of the place itself with the place full of old bricks and churches ( usually ). You never know what you might find ::

: BOOKSTORE :

:: Millions of books everywhere ::

:: I was on a little holiday with my family the other few days staying at my gran and granddads and at  the same time we went to different places near buy, surprisingly a lot of places included a lot of things to my taste such as vintage shops, second hand stalls, abandoned buildings. One of my favorite sights that I found very fascinating was this bookshop that we went in, in Morcambe. A sea side that takes a long country journey to ::

:: Its almost like a little adventure full of old, vintage and retro books. The whole place is stacked with shelfs full of books above and around. If I wanted I would have bought most of them, But when it comes to buying really old books that I want, for me they must be religious books. I see religion as a poet a fashion and most importantly its very old ( the way I like things ). Unfortunately I could not find any religious books ::

:: They had all sorts of books from comics to well known books, I wished I could have owned the place  or even just the idea of owning so many books. Which I think will be a next goal of mine to read more and own more books that I have read. As they are one of my favorite old and vintage possessions ::

:: I admired some of the old boxes as well there was even a suitcase inside that looked so old I wished I could have nicked it ( shame I never toke a picture of it ). I seriously think If anyone admires the beauty of vintage they should defiantly buy books like theses ( obviously the old covered ones ) because usually they are so cheap ::

:: At the moment I am reading Marilyn Manson's long hard road out of hell book. His autobiography. Just an insight to what I read, a great book that I recommend to anyone who wants to read something very creative and disturbing ::

: FASHIONABLY GROTESQUE :

:: My updated fashionably grotesque collection ::

:: After I thought I had used all my barbies for my fashionably grotesque collection, I recently found another barbie hidden away in my wardrobe that I forgot about. So I decided with this one to be a bit more creative. So I went to get my dads sharp tools and started chopping her leg in half then I stuck a wire through it and placed her on my shelf. With the other leg I kept it attached to her hip then halved her body and placed the leg with the hip upside down on the edge of my cage. I love doing this to decorate my room it really gives it that vintage yet grotesque and creative look ::

:: I have also added other bits to my room like a pair of my barbies shoes that I have placed in front of my perfume, looks quite adorable. On my other desk I have made a row of all my barbies shoes from smallest to biggest ( I have not taken a picture of this as is bad lighting in that part of my room ) ranging from high heels to trainers ::

:: I love placing them in my cage it suggests that grotesque trapped look or something of putting on a show. I will be going to the flea market soon in chesterfield ( a market selling masses of vintage things )  and I hope to buy doll heads and toy doll heads, amazing what little bits they sell ::

: THE ABANDONED SCHOOL :

:: The abandoned school not so far from where I live ::

:: I have often walked past this school (which is literally up the road)  always admiring its new profound state of being part of the abandoned. But I have never ventured into it ( as until now never thought of going into it and taking picture ) But now I had my camera I thought it was time to go on a little adventure ::

:: So I climbed over the wall ( almost breaking a leg) and discovered some very fascinating sites, weeds sprawled out at everyplace ( just how I like it ). Graffiti on walls creating some very good photos, making the building look even older, yet misused its beauty, although I find at times it highlights it. I only wished I could have been taught in such a beautiful building like this. Shame. Walking around I found the small playground, marked on for playing games and there was lots of interesting objects and items about. There was lots of narrow bricked pathways full of overgrown weeds, but my favorite part of this beautiful place was the back window I stood there and watched the pigeons standing on the edge and flying out ::

: VINTAGE JEWELRY :

:: My favorite vintage necklaces ::

:: I never leave the house without one of my vintage necklaces on, sometimes I wear all of them. They are one of my favorite accessories to wear. I started buying my necklaces from mainstream shops such as claire accessories. But then when I became obsessed with vintage things I discovered retro and vintage shops in my city centre in the back streets, selling delicate vintage necklaces that looked older and more genuine than the stuff in claires ::

:: I love how my vintage necklaces dangle of my vintage shelf, really suits the room adding to the theme , make sure what ever you buy helps decorate your room. My favorite necklace is one that was given to me from my sister that she brought from one of the vintage shops. I love its detail of the old picture, it really is a piece that hangs well of my shelf ::

: RIBBON COLLECTION :

:: My ribbon collection ::

:: I absolutely love my ribbon collection no matter how thick or thin. I tend to aim to collect mainly white and light color pinks or blues, then I love to decorate my bird cage with them (My bird cage is just for putting in my empty perfume bottles and display my fashionably grotesque barbies) I think they are so pretty and adds that vintage look to my room. Sometimes I use some of my ribbons for adding accessories to my scrapbook for my art. I like to add a touch of vintage to my art as well as my everyday life ::

:: I also love my little bows that are quite cheap and just place them on items in my room such as my bird cage ::

:: I also like to decorate bits of my furniture with ribbons such as my favorite ribbon that my sister nicked from her school art department that I display dangling of my shelf next to my headless barbie also dangling of it creating its own little art piece. I don't buy ribbons for myself I either get them with presents or I have stole them from my colleges art department. I also have here a picture of a fan on my shelf that I think is so delicate that my sister got for me. I love the delicate flower detail as well as the detail on the tissue from a tissue packet from Cath kidston. Any thing random with little details like this makes my room look great ::
