:: Although this isn't the most vintage thing in my room, I love my barbie dolls, either legless, armless or headless, they great add a grotesque image to my room ::
:: I have had these barbie dolls for a while ( childhood memories couldn't let them go) so instead of leaving them in my wardrobe I decided to create an art out of them. If you visit my other blog http://butterythrone.blogspot.co.uk/ you will see this kind of theme is what I am used to. I like to place them with other of my vintage items also adding accessories to there bodies, Eg. the black spine drawn with nail varnish ( getting the idea from Marilyn Manson ) and the wire wrapped round the legs. I personally like that as it looks like its being tortured, the wire adds to that old and raw look ::
:: For one of my dolls that I have decorated, I got a small bowl of vinegar, clear nail varnish and some newspaper. you first add the nail varnish to the area of the doll that you would print the newspaper on. Then you let that to dry, then cover it with vinegar putting on top the bit of newspaper then rub hard into it for a few min. Then like the barbie legs you should have a newspaper mark, creating and black and white old effect ::
:: I have also hidden one of my barbies in my cage, I love the old hook hanging from its head ::
:: stick around for tomorrow as i will show you the beginnings of my glass jar collection ::
